But Tyler continued.
“Dad said once the lake property was transferred, he was going to develop part of it. He said I could manage the rentals.”
Melissa stood.
“Tyler, enough.”
“No,” Robert said.
“Let him finish.”
Tyler shook his head.
“That’s everything I know.”
Gregory Keller began putting the documents back into his portfolio.
“I think I should leave.”
Robert stopped him.
“One question.”
Keller paused.
“Had you ever spoken to me before today?”
“No.”
“Did anyone give you medical documentation saying I wasn’t mentally competent?”
“No.”
“Did Daniel tell you I was dying?”
Keller’s eyes moved toward Daniel.
Daniel’s jaw tightened.
Finally, Keller answered.
“He told me your prognosis was poor.”
Robert gave a humorless smile.
“My cardiologist expects me to return to normal activity within a few months.”
Keller closed his portfolio.
“Then I was given inaccurate information.”
Daniel stepped toward him.
“Greg—”
“I believe you need independent counsel.”
Robert responded calmly.
“I already have it.”
He paused.
“Franklin Shaw.”
Keller clearly recognized the name.
Apparently, that was enough.
He left almost immediately.
The moment the front door closed, Daniel exploded.
“You went to Franklin?”
Robert didn’t answer.
“You went to him before coming home?”
“Yes.”
